Well so much for a 15 min job.

Returned home today after moving my son from one apartment to another and went back to work on the shock problem. Got my buddy from across the street to lend a couple of hands because my two were not enough.

After several attempts with the floor jack ended up putting the bike on the center stand. Blocked the wheel underneath so it wouldn't fall to the ground. Removed both shocks at once. Than using the floor jack lift the bike up just enough to install the new Progressive 412's. :hammer:

All is done, did a test ride and the bike feels much better with the new shocks. Bumps don't shake my spine like before with the stock shocks.

Here's a pic of the new look. Also added a chrome cam cover and a Corbin Gunfighter and Lady seat since I last posted a pic. Next week my new backrest for the Corbin will be in. Picked up a after market non-Corbin off Ebay. Will let you know how it fits and post some pics in the Gear Forum.

Great job and really nice looking bike! Now you'll be forced to do the front springs, if you haven't already.

The wife really likes the seat and so do I. Feel its a huge improvment over stock. Once I get backrest will be even better for her, and me, since she will feel confident to sit back on the seat. Also she likes being able to sit up higher than me and see forward instead of looking at the back of my head.

Got the seat off classified forum so was able to save a few bucks which was also a bonus.

And yes front springs already done. Can't wait to hit the two lane back roads to give the new shocks a workout.

High wind screen is good and bad.

Great when the love bugs are out, not good when riding across a bridge with 30 mph + wind quartering at me.

Actually the screen is nice on road trips. With the weather turning hot may start taking off to get more breeze when riding around town.

Great looking ride. :upthumb: What's up with the rear fender?? Looks like there's something hanging from the seat?

Those friggin' love bugs are getting as big as dragon flies this year. I had to check my face for blood 3 times tonight. I thought they were rocks, but they left some wings and green stuff. That's our punishment for year round riding.

***** love bugs are really out now!! Had t ode-splat the bike after last nite ride. I try to stay close t othe coast w/ an east wind during this time of year. Not as bad. They are disgusting when they hit ya in the face!! Can make a mess oufghta a light shirt as well. Goa a vista shield for the helmet that works great for the eyes. Gotta keep your mouth closed tho. Got a face full of Pelican poop a couple of weeks ago. Talk about gross!!! Ill have to mount this guy on the front of the bike> :hammer:
