I did some light off road driving today about 25 miles. Sandy smooth surface with a few bumps and rutts. I will post pics of the caranage later but, blew out front fork is now leaking. Steering head feels loose and my mirror snapped off. I never hit a thing. How does the scramble handle this stuff with out falling apart. They look pretty similiar.

No, your issues sound really weird, to me. Now, this is going to sound just so wrong, but I take my Thruxton on crappy fire roads and such a *lot*. I know it's not the best thing for the bike, but it's a lot of fun. Feels like a mountain bike that I don't have to pedal. Point is, I've never had an issue with the forks or with anything falling off or coming loose. Granted, I'm just zooping along and going *really* slow over anything bumpy, but I don't understand why you would get such dissimilar issues.

Oslo-Dakar-Oslo on a Bonnie
Other than a highside I think the only problem he has had so far is one broken spoke. Top speed in Sahara was 100mph if I'm not misstaken. 10,000 mile trip in 5 weeks, he will be home in a few days

Very, very, very cool :chug: Do you have any further details of his trip? Is he writing about it?

The photos of the Oslo trip are incredible jojje. It would be great to read about the trip if he decides to write it up.

I live 4 miles up an old Colorado forest service road and no problems, the Scrambler actually handles fire roads fairly well and that is why I traded in my Bonnie and a KLR 650 for the Scrambler.
Checked out that Australian video from Rusk's link on Adventure riders, wow that was cool.
