I assume the bonnie uses the same carbs as the speedy/america aside from the jetting, right? So i asked here because this forum is much more prolific than the cruiser forum.

Anyways, i want to try some 42 pilots and i don't want to spend $7 for shipping nor do i wanna wait. I wanna try em this saturday. So if anyone knows which jap bikes use the same carbs lemmie know so i can hopefully get them locally this weekend.

pull your pilot's and go to a local dealer and mate them up, I did this with mine when I still had stock carbs.

daz, I may be wrong, but I thought I read the 270 motors have 42 pilots stock.

You might want to verify your stock pilots before you go buy the others. I could be wrong.

You don't need to worry about which bikes use the same carbs - you just need to worry about getting Keihin jets, which are about as common as they get. Any MC shop should have them; I'd be surprised if you have any trouble at all getting them. After experiencing the pain that is trying to get Dell'orto jets, I think I'll really appreciate how easy it is to get parts (and expertise) for Keihins.

Hmm.....ok. Well i guess i'll just call the local Jap shops and see who has em. Thanks. sweat....no, they're 40's. Look in the triumph manual and it shows the 865 as 40. Besides, i've removed them before to try 45's and after seeing the 45's were too rich i recall thinking i should try the jests in between the stock and 45's. So that would be 42 as there are no other numbers between 40 and 45.

Daz,
Dennis Kirk carries Keihin jets in their Metric Streetbike catalog. Also, the Kawasaki KLR-650 uses a CVK carb, so Kawi/Suzuki shops should have them, too.

I believe the Harley Sportster uses the same carb. Should be able to check a dealership.

Sudco carries all sorts of carbs, and I beleive they are in Simi somewhere. They will have the jets you are looking for.

Be aware that there are several different kinds of Keihin pilot jets (and main jets too for that matter). Best bet: just pull one of your pilots and take it to a shop to match it up.
