Swiss Army Gauge Group Buy? - ElectroSport 2700 and 2800

ElectroSport 22700/2800

This is the ElectroSport 2700/2800 series gauge. It is capable of doing everything that you could ever ask of a gauge, at a price that puts mini gauges to shame. Further, it's very slight, at only 64mm in diameter.

From their website:
Quote:
2700 / 2800 Series Features Include:
- Elegant CNC aluminum waterproof structure housing (3-colors available)
- Multi-functional LCD ATV/Motorcyle computer includes 4 to 6 LED lights for different purpose indicators.
- LCD has 2 rows digital and analogue rpm bar-graphic displays with blue LEDs backlight.
- Odometer and total riding time are stored in memory, even when the power is off.
- Individual clock power line to keep hour meter on when power is off. Clock power consumption is around 80uA.
- Universal wheel circumference setting range: 1-3999mm.
- Metric /British system option available.
- Includes rpm sensor, speed sensor and magnet kits.
- Vibration (8G) and mechanical shock (100G) tested.
- Packing in eight languages color box.
- Water resistant tested 100%
- EMI / EMS tested.
We would be looking at model ACE-2802, for our motorbikes. This version lacks the fuel gauge, but incorporates:
- Speedometer
- Tachometer
- Average speed meter
- Maximum speed meter
- Trip meter
- Odometer
- Clock
- Current riding time
- Total riding time
- Brights
- Neutral position
- Oil pressure
- Both left and right turn indicator LEDs

The price is right at $119.00 plus $10.00 shipping. However, I'm reading reports that a group buy will drop the price even further. From the Custom Fighters forums:

Quote:
Any of the 2700/2800's with out the fuel gauge would be:

$100.00 if you guys can get 25 together total.
$85.00 if you can get 50.

For any of the 2700/2800's with Fuel the prices would be:

$105.00 with 25 people
$90.00 with 50 people

Thanks,

Marcus Atkinson

So, will it work on our bikes? From what I am reading, yes. You can request any of the standard speedometer drive configurations. However, I *think* that we can use this to convert to an electronic/magnetic speedometer, if we wish.

The icing on the cake is that D9 has told me that he's willing to build the gauge mounts, as needed. I asked him about the idea first, as I knew that a group buy would mean a deluge in requests on his end and he's tells me he's ready to rock and roll. :-D

:roflmoa2: You know, last night at work I was looking at the EXACT same gauge! They are made by Acewell and you can get them in black, chrome and unfinished aluminum.

There is also a speedo/computer made by KOSO http://www.kosonorthamerica.com/koso_anglais/toutes1.htm that would be pretty cool with the help of D9 and his bracketry skills!

Great post! I am interested. I like the unfinished alumininum finish myself.

Well, it looks like just the two of us, Greg. One helluva group buy.

I like that GP style on the Koso. I just wish that it was a combo gauge.

Cool. Anyone feel like they'll decrease the retro appeal of the bike?

Honestly, I've gone for a more modern-retro-cafe-street fighter approach, so I'm really not concerned about it.

However, I think the chrome gauge would not take away too much of the retro feel most people are looking for.

I'm not in yet, but I'm definitely curious. I'm a little confused about the speedo hookup - if I read this correctly, we can get it with a mechanical hookup to our stock cable? Or, using their cable to our drive? Or would we be required to use their magnetic sensor setup instead?

Also, with the group buy, are we looking at everyone getting the same style unit?

I'm in, assuming - per xardoz question - that it's hookable using the OEM
speedo cable...

Cheers,

D9

According to their website, you can indeed hook the gauge up to the stock cable. However, you could opt to convert to the electric/magnetic sensor, if you so desired. That is possibly the route that I will take, as I would imagine that it is much more accurate.

More than likely not, if the website I first heard about this at is any indication. However, it looks like the ACE-2802 is our best choice, as we don't have a petrol sensor.

I've called them and they are going to call me back, but the lady on the telephone was initially confused as to whether or not such a deal would be offered. If they decide to not honor a group buy, or if their prices do not drop significantly, we can go through the other website and utilise their group purchase offer.
