Yo Dudes
Decided to log on again and see what you were all doing. Nice to see a whole load of new names and especially nice to see some of the old names still here. Monte in particular, I remember your good good wishes after my accident and your cool words of wisdom.
I spotted FattRatt's name as posting in another thread but what happened to his Bonnie project - can't see anything in the gallery.
I've been doing a whole load of riding since the last time I was on here and spent a few quid with New Bonneville. 4000 miles on my second Bonnie and I still haven't scraped a peg but I reckon I'm getting closer

Hi Baz, Welcome back. Hopefully I will be ridin a Triumph twin sooner than I thought, dads looking at trading the bonnie for a tiger!!!!!!! Yes, im not supporting the change, but it will mean no more rides on the back of such a cool bike. So im going to try and pull a few strings and do the tests etc whilst still in college... so we can meet up sooner and ride!

Welcome back to the saddle. Hows the weather been for you? I think of your part of the world staying cold and wet into May.
bikerboy, don't fault your pop. That Tiger is a tough one to pass up. He's going to have a great time on the triple. You should start working on him now to keep the twin for you.

Welcome back to the machine!
It's kinda changed 'round here of late. We've got hooligans, punks, gentlemen, ladies, and more younger riders. Seems the bike'n world been reading our mail and wanting in on the action. Life, and personalized Bonnies IS GOOD!
My "project Bonnie" morphed into what appears in the image below. Between it's Thruxton front end, after-market shocks, single rate springs, and alloy Excels..... the bike rode reeeeal nice. I didn't take the divider plate outa the box on THIS Bonnie, and I believe it has a MUCH better delivery of power throughout it's range. The ProCom igniter lasted over 22,000 miles, but during the cold months I developed a starting problem. When I returned the Triumph igniter in place, it fired right up. I NEVER had any front-end shake, shimmy, or wobble wiggle woes with THIS BonnieBlack. I believe it may have been because I had the frame blue printed, and because my rear-sets put my weight more forward on the bike.
It was a great bike, but I just sold it last night.
The red was a bit over the top for me, and though the factory wheels were replaced with alloys and heavy duty Buchanan's, I had three spokes break on me (long story). If I enter into another Bonnie project, it will get forged wheels so I can go tubeless and not worry about Triumph's poor wheel/hub/spoke design. I won't go Hagon shocks this time around, adjustable preload on the front end is something I want to retain, I wanna go back to M bars, and the Norman Hyde rear-sets would replace the Raasks I had. And I'm a sucker for black...... at the very least, it won't be red the next time around.

Thanks for the welcome back lads
I've not been off the bike you know. Was seeing a lady who lives 100 miles away through the summer so I clocked up miles almost every weekend - hence I had better things to do than spend my weekends and evening on the pooter - I was talking to her!! - I'm sure you understand
Since the Autumn I've been researching how to live on a boat and take my bike with me - I'm selling up you see because I retire in 3 years and I want to be freeeee!!! - but I absolutely will not give up one dream in pursuit of another - can you imagine Bazza cruising down the river with his Bonnie standing proudly in the bow, leading the way.
Whoa - the weather here in the uk has been absolutely fantastic for the past fortnight - not a drop of rain - clear blue skies almost everyday - bit of a cold wind this last week but the week before was gloriously warm - fabulous biking weather - The blossom has leapt onto the trees and there is fresh green growth everywhere.
Fattrat - excellent looking bike - but what happened to the black Vincent lookalike? - the one with the fishtail pipes - that's what you were working on when I last looked

Wow.... "retirement", "on a boat", "with a bike"......
now THAT sounds like THE life!
I'm kinda preparing for retirement too, one of the reasons I sold the red Bonnie. Wanted to pay down a car and didn't feel that I 'deserved' two bikes.
This was the BonnieBlack before I sold it. I had since changed out the letters on the ped' slicer with white letters, and the fish tails were replaced with these straight tip home made cans.
And this is what I'm riding now. Yamaha made this color combination in '03. In yer parts, they call this bike a "Fazer"; with jetting and a can it's putting over 130hp to the rear wheel. I had the internals lowered an inch and beefed up the suspension to handle my Krauser hard bags.
Bikes is bikes, and I love 'em all!

Well, now. Had a nice but tiring weekend, get on the net at after midnight -- and up pops Baz. Can't think of a better end to the day! Welcome home, friend.
As Pat relates things have changed here on the site a bit, not all for the better, but with popularity you take what you get. Mostly its good, and there are still a lot of folks offering sage and somewhat humble advice and, in general, behaving sort of civilized, or at least now and then.
We have had a run lately of posters who already know everything about everything and never had a stray thought they didn't want to share, with absolute certitude as to its veracity. The disconnect between the mind and the mouth, or in this case the fingertips, is often amazing to behold. I find that a bit tedious but now that its riding season its easier to ignore by getting on the bike and riding. As much as I love this site and consider the members part of my extended family, real riding beats talking about it 10 out of 10 times.
Glad to hear you are well, have a lady friend, and getting ready to reorganize your life. Equally glad that you have kept your priorities straight and that the Bonnie at the front of the boat, where, of course, she belongs.
VERY good to have you back here safely.
Monte
