Well folks, I'm sorry to say the bike ain't running.
It was running great (and sounding great) I rode about 10 miles this evening after getting a few final things buttoned up, new fender, wiring new tail light/turn signals, etc, and took her out for the first real ride around 7pm.
Got about 10 miles and the bike was running good, I'm going 80mph on Mopac (a highway here for the non-locals) and all of a sudden the bike dies. It wouldn't start, but it had oil and no oil leaks, and it would turn over with the starter. I saw a little oil near the cylinders and when I put it in 5th gear I could push it without pulling in the clutch.
anyway, I'm not much on religion, but I'm praying it's a blown head gasket and not something to do with the cam chain...
I'll dig into it later, but in case anyone is wondering, a motorcycle tow runs about $65 here in Austin.
