I'm thinkiing about going to the Americade rally in Lake George, NY, this June. Is anyone here planning to go? Has anyone here attended in the past? What can you tell me about the event?

What went on there, what was there to do? I've been to Lake George. The lake is real nice but the town is your run of the mill tourist trap with overpriced restaurants and way too many Tee shirt stores.

Ive attended a few local bike events around the southeastern, PA area and have been disappointed. Lots of vendors selling basically the same stuff, 90% of the people rode Harleys there and everyone just walking around the same circle. Personally, I'd ratehr be riding my bike.

Thx
CC

I had never been to Lake George before so it was interesting, and it was nice to meet other Blue Knights from other chapters. This year is Americade's 25 year so it makes it interesting to see how they are going to celebrate it . Was able to purchase moto-lights for my T100 after looking at other after market lighting.Mikey

Woodchuck -- As Robin mentioned, there will be several members of the CV RAT Pack riding over on Saturday morning. On Saturday evening there's a Triumph dinner; let me know if you're interested in attending this, as there's a limited number of people who can fit in the venue. I believe the dinner is $25 per person. I attended last year, and it was a lot of fun.

There are some other Triumph-related events earlier in the week, but I have to work during the week so won't be able to make it to those.

Hello Woodchuck and everyone,

I've been to Americade three times in the last seven years, and each time for more than three days.

I enjoy the demo rides given by manufacturers, but you need to sign up early in the morning to reserve your time.

Most of the venders, food included, are in one area where it can take several hours to walk through.

Lake George proper offers different restaurants, tourist traps, but hours of people watching while eating ice cream, or sipping suds.

Classes and seminars are held round the clock, and entertainment galore. You shouldn't ever be bored.

The best is the riding. You have many choices of guided and unguided tours, or go by yourself.

Make reservations early because there are 50,000 of your friends doing it right now.

Best regards,

Barry

Sounds like a winner. I'd love to meet everyone, so please count me in on the dinner. Please PM me with what I need to do.

Thanks,
Woodchuck

I'll be there again this year. The dinner is great if you can get a spot with all those R3 capitans!

Save your money and hit Laconia, New Hampshire the week after Lake George. Or just use LG to get warmed up for bike week in the lakes region of NH! If you want some great riding head up in the White Mountains north of Laconia!
