Hi,

A newbie here. Does any one know how to research a VIN. There's a bike on eBay I'm interested in and would like to check out the numbers.

Thanks,
Gary

P.S. Yes it is a Triumph. The Sportster needs to go to make room for this Triumph fever!

Carfax? I know they do this kind of thing for cars...maybe they have bikes in their database too?

Thanks Doc,

I checked Carfax, they only do cars and trucks with 17 digit VIN's. The Bike is a '66 T100.

Thanks Sweat,

I do know a 911 dispatcher. He's probably got the connection I need.

Wow, a 1966? If the bike is that old I'd say the best way to get a sense of what it's like is a visual and mechanical inspection. If you are looking for matching/correct numbers and such, you can certainly find books and such on vintage Triumphs. Outside my area, but there are folks here in the Vintage & Veteran forum who can prolly help you.
