So, last week I bought a new jacket and riding pants for this spring/summer from Motorcyclegearshops.com. I have yet to receive the them but I am super excited. I bought the Triumph mens Rochester Mesh jacket and the Raptor Vented Jeans. Here are a couple of pics...

Does anyone else here have this jacket or these pants? how are they as far as quality, comfort, air flow? also, motorcyclegearshops.com is the slowest online store i have ever used.

neves- To say the least there is a checkered history with the folks at m'cycle gearshops. Personally, I've bought a few things from them, without incident. But others, many others...nae so guut.
As to the togs- I have a Triumph brand vented jacket and have been very pleased with it. Don't know about the trow.
And since I'm bald and shave every day, my opinion would be marginal at best... :-D

Anyone know what the abrasion resistence is on the pants and what exactly they are made of??? A lot of of the mesh (and other) gear out there is made out of polyester and other materials and coatings that melt from the high heat friction on asphalt which melts into your skin. Not cool. I have the Raptor mesh summer jacket and was wearing it when i went down in the rain a couple years ago. I wasn't doing more than 30mph and by the time i hit the ground i didn't slide more than a couple feet before hitting the car. So within a couple feet on wet pavement, the elbow in my jacket wore straight through to the armor. What if I was doing 70mph on dry pavement and slid a couple hundred feet?
Now i'm wearing Motoport pants and jacket, the kevlar air mesh. The breeze blows through like a thin t-shirt but it's heavy and stiff. Not exactly comfortable. So i'd like to find a good compromise for the summer. Leather is still hard to beat for winter protection but houston summers require something else.

If anyone is interested, this might be an eye opener. Check out the abrasion resistance chart...

www.motoport.com

They've spent millions testing and developing materials.

I have been trying to find the specs on the jacket and the only thing I can find is that it has cordura construction. It doesn't say the thickness or quality. Right now I have a Joe Rocket Phoenix summer coat. I set it on the bike and the arm of the coat rested on the header pipes and melted right through it. That is the reason why I wanted a new jacket. At least, thats what I told the wife. I really just wanted a big TRIUMPH logo on the back of the jacket.

Mare,

I'm flattered you like my photo. Does the jacket make my pecs look too big?? :-)
