Me and the GF got together with a couple friends and took a ride over to the Barber Motorsport Museum in B'ham, Alabama - which is actually nothing more than Mr. Barber's personal collection of motorcycles and a few vintage Lotus cars too. If you call 1200+ motorcycles a mere personal collection. I'd been thru there before, but everyone else in the group was in for a treat. They couldn't stop talking about their experience over dinner. If you live within riding distance of the Museum - it's a MUST SEE for a motorcycle enthusiast.

From my house which is 30 miles North West of the Atlanta perimeter, it was a 125 mile (one way) trip along some nice GA/AL backroads - which is about the same mileage if you opted to take the Interstate - but what's the fun in that?

Here's a photo of me and the GF sitting in front of the Museum. Note: Motorcycles get curbside reserved parking while car owners must park in the lot and walk in. Sorry - got busy oogling over bikes and never took another shot all day. :-D

nice!

Question: Did you shorten your stock front fender, or buy a new one? Looks good!

My Girlfriend has been has been lusting after a Speedmaster lately. She has absolutely ZERO riding experience, other than pillion time...

Bonafide, sounds like a wonderful day - lucky you and GF! - freezing cold and rain rain rain rain here outside St. Louis... have to say, nice looking as your bike is, your lovely GF poses some serious competition for that beauteeeful black-wheeled Bonnie... my advice is, don't let the Bonneville get jealous - hell hath no fury like a motorcycle scorned...

:-D

I shortened the stock one myself, courtesy of Mr. Dremel. I'm presently thinking about getting an aftermarket one tho. I want to do a color change with a seperate tank, fender, side panels, and cowl. I have everything ready for the painter cept a new fender. That way I can pull the bike in the garage - swap everything out - and ride the next day on a different bike. Neighbor had a set up like that once and I thought that was just too cool for skool.

D9 - thanks - but no worries on my end, The GF wins hands down. She's super-cool too. She asked me this morning, "Can you modify my bike like that?" BTW - the Demon tires - whoa nelly. They have more grip than I have courage ... and I live to ride fast. Definitely worth the coin-age.

What a great way to spend the day, visiting barber must be like a little kid in a candy store...( I know it would be like that for me )...

Sounds like the Pirelli's will be more than enough tire for me.

My significant other is talking about taking the safety course this season up here, no riding experience like machine's gal...we'll see how that pan's out.

Ok - Ya'll need to wipe those grins off your face. I sure am missing some prime riding weather. Glad you had a great trip.
