I was going through a little-used drawer, and came across this wonderful old Bonneville brochure I picked up at a dealership in Toledo Ohio nearly 30 years ago. I scanned it, then uploaded it to Photobucket. The small print may be impossible to read, but much of the large typefont is legible.
Anyone on the forum from Toledo who remembers Cycles' Limited, located on Tremainsville Road in Toledo??
Link to Triumph Brochure from 1978
Happy New Year,
Bob

Very cool , that brings back some memories of when I
bought my 76 Bonnie.
I love that bike. I still have her in the garage under a cover.
she is in need of some TLC. I have been thinking more and
more about tearing her down to the frame and, then building
her back up to new. Every time I end up over on the
classic/vintage forum I want to get started. It wont be long
before I do. I have found a few good sites for parts.
Thanks for the memories
Bill

I still have a mint condition brochure for a 1977 Silver Jubilee. Don't know why, just hung onto it all these years.

Bob,
As you can see on my avatar deal, I have a '78 Bonnie! Will you e-mail me those scanned images? I'd like to print them up and put them in the '78 file!
Regards,

Nice brochure, but I believe it to be 1976. From what I can make out of the carbs, those are Amal concentric MKI with the tickler. The T140E(nvironment) came out in 1978 eliminating the tickler with the Amal MKII. Also, the color scheme for '76 was Cherokee Red and white, where the '78's were black and red.
It's still a keeper and a beauty of a brochure.

Yeah - that's what I told Darrell when I sent him the files. There is no reference to model year in the brochure, and all I had to go by was the year I stopped at the Triumph dealership in Toledo, which was early to mid-1978. I'd gotten away from bikes after the mid 1960's, and wasn't up to speed on Triumphs or any other models at the time.
The fact that they were handing out 1976 brochures in 1978 is probably a good indicator of the condition of Triumph in the USA at the time.

Yes, that is defiantly a 1976.
They also came in metallic blue and white.

Pacific blue (or Polychrome blue) and White was new for the '77 models. The '76 and '77 are essentially the same bike (only the paint schemes differ) and share the same parts manual.

Maybe mine is a late 76, because I bought it in 77 and it was
left over form 76 and, the vin. numbers say it's a 76 and,
it came with a (what ever) blue and white paint scheme.
Who knows ,maybe the dealer changed the tank.
Because I have heard that before,
"the blue and white was new for 77"
It is true the 76 and the 77 are identical except for the paint
and , the rear tail light housing. The 76 was a polished aluminum housing and , the 77 was painted black.
That's the only difference that I know of.
