I am really starting to crave a Barbour International jacket, anyone know of a U.S. shop that has the best deal around? So far $360 is the best that I have found.<IMG SRC="

I bought one of these recently at the Barbour shop in Manhattan. $400 plus i paid $80 for the liner (get a liner if you can find one). This jacket (in black) is awesome, but expensive, it fits very well, not baggy like a typical Barbour jacket. You could check the Barbour website for dealers or check ebay, but the thing is if you can just walk into a shop and buy it, you can try it on and make sure its the right size (it runs a little bit big i think) and you don't pay shipping, and you don't have to wait for it. You should just buy it now, so you can use it for the perfect chilly weather right now. I also bought one of the women's motorcycle jackets for my wife and she really loves it. The mens Barbour International motorcycle jacket is definately an awesome guy's motorcycle jacket for a Bonneville/Thruxton/Scrambler rider since its also British and has a lot of tradition, and definately a retro look. It just obviously doesn't give a whole lot of protection in the event of an accident, and it's a wee bit heavy. All in all its very cool.

Great, thanks for the info especially how it fits. I am currently calling some dealers in Colorado but so far they don't carry that model and won't special order.

Yes, this jacket is hard to get, I originally saw one in a shop that had just one but not my size, which alerted me to their existence. I then went to the manhattan shop and bought mine. The shop i bought mine at, Barbour by peter elliot in manhattan, had a large inventory of these jackets on display, and they had more in the back room, including liners, which are supposedly very hard to get. if you're willing to pay full retail they probably have your size but there were a lot of people checking them out and another person bought one the same time i did, so if you wait too long they might sell out soon.

Thanks everyone for the info!
I just ordered one from royalmale.com for $360 with free shipping after searching all over the internet, sounds like this jacket has gotten very popular and that the going rate of $400 is pretty normal.

Is is just waxed cotton, isn't it ?
My Belstaff cost about $130 AU 10 years ago.
Cheers

Pfm, I know they are really too expensive and I hate to spend this much but I have wanted one one of these jackets for about 25 years, so this will be my Christmas (early) gift to myself.
The dealers that I talked to mentioned that the price will continue to rise due to the popularity of the jacket so I thought that I should buy now and not wait until it is too late.
