Anybody want to go. It's one of the biggest and best.
I'm think something along the lines of: meet at the Crest early, canyon hop north hit the freeway, boom (sonic of course), we're there.

Where: Edwards Air Force Base Flight Line
When: Saturday and Sunday, October 28 & 29
Gates open at 7 a.m., flying starts at 10 a.m., closes at 4:30 p.m.
Admission: Free
Parking: Free

And it's free. Nothing like a USAF Air Show. But what, no F-4 Phantom?

One of the coolest things I ever saw was a Harrier demonstration. It left me slack-jawed. :-D

I'm going but I may make it a cage event so I can bring a chair and not have to spend the day standing around in engineer boots. Went to Miramar last weekend (by car) and was completely burnt after standing around looking at the sky for three hours. Great show, though. Edwards will be even better. One of the benefits of being a US taxpayer is you get plenty of bang for your buck!

I was one of those guys. Yes it was a lot of work. That's the price you pay to fly.
The fixed wingers have it easy. Rotary wing is the real *****.

I paid my buck. I want to see some bang put on target.

Cobra, what you do in the A F?

I was a SP at the McGuire AFB Air shows 75-79 a million years ago. I use to love the shows. :hammer: 7

FIXED WING FLIGHT ENGINEER!!! Hehe, guess I got it easy.

I am an FE on the MC-130H Combat Talon II, currently stuck out here at Kirtland in Instructor duty. All of my 16 years on one variant or other of the C-130!

Nathan,

Yea, but that's not the typical C-130. And it's not the typical mission either.

I was just ribben you a little. After reading your comment i had a hunch and went to your profile. Sure enough 2+2=4

I know you are a slave to that thing and got to work your butt off to keep it fmc.

At least yours are designed to fly.
It was all I could to persuade mine to get off the ground. The thought of a 100hr phase maintence was enough to send me into a depression. You know its bad when they start referring to it as the "hanger queen"

you might be stuck out there but look on the bright side. At least your getting some flight time without having to restock your flares.
Given the mission profile of that thing, I would think that you would be enjoying a slightly slower paced lifestyle.
Besides, I don't think they let you have POVs in a combat area. Even if it is a Triumph.

Take it as easy as you can.
Thanks for serving.
