Extra Motorcycle: dya mean the one outside?
Swapped the old brake hose for a new Goodridge s/s braded one and boy what a difference it makes - much more positive.
It was simply a matter of running a pipe from the bleed NIPPLE (he he - I got to say it) to an old plastic milk bottle, loosening the NIPPLE (fnar - and again), and pumping the system dry. After swapping the brake hose, I refilled the reservoir and got my son to squeeze the brake lever while I twiddled the NIPPLE (joy - oh, okay) to expell the air into the bottle. The only problem I encountered was that the bottle shifted every time I twisted the YOU-KNOW-WHAT (can't be too careful now - Mare might read this) resulting in the end of the pipe lifting above the surface of the fluid in the bottle and breaking the syphon effect. This was solved by placing the bottle in an old work boot I fished out of the bin and the job was finished in no time at all.
After washing the bike down (just in case of any unseen spillages) and a quick cup of tea, I took it for a test run to Carlisle (where I saw a nice chimney) and was very pleased with the results of my little task. I can't believe I was going to pay someone to do it!

L: The old boot.
R: Dickson's Chimney - imagine the size of the BREAST at the base of that! .... ooops, sorry.

I've heard of Beemer riders swapping out old rubber hoses for ss lines, and they generally felt the brakes were either easier to apply, or seemed to be more powerful. Either would be a worthwhile improvement on our bikes.

Nice going keef.
I did the same thing to a new H**** I bought years ago and the result was like suddenly having power brakes.
I haven't done it with my new H**** which has powerful double front discs, or the T100, but it's something I'm considering for the Triumph.

Way to go Keef. They tryied to get me to put braded lines on my 1996 Trident ,but as always I never got around to it.
The brakes feel a lot better now do they? Good job on the photos Keef. Good to see you doing more post. we missed you.
Ride safe
Cheers, Jeff

Methinks you need more access to real (ie: attached to breasts) nipples in your life. :-D
