Hey all,

I'd like to say that this is me, but it's not. The colour of the bike is all I have in common with this skillful guy. Found these pics among the thruxton review on motorcycle.com.

Someone should tell him to face forward when riding !!

Hope I posted the photos correctly.

That made me think of something. You might have seen that post i did about that sportbike rider doing a wheelie on the freeway for about 1/2 mile. Well, they of course have EFI, but i wonder what happens on a bike like a bonnie thats carberated.............. if you go far enough i would think the bike would cut out or something due to the carbs and floats??? Never thought about that before. But on the other hand i remember Evil kenivil doing so pretty long wheelies. I wonder how far you could go before the bike would cut out or if my theory is wrong.

I wonder if he's doing all that with stock sprockets?

I have tried to lift my front end (in an empty parking lot of course). I can't do it in a roll on situation. Longer wheel base and standard position pegs prevent it. Maybe if is stand on the rear pegs but this just does not seem very stable and I would'nt be able to hit the rear brake if needed.

Oh believe me, the Bonnies and Thrux's can wheelie.

Get in first gear and go about 15 mph, pull in the clutch, rev it to 5,000 rpms, dump the clutch and gomango!

I've had my front wheel up in the air more times than my clutch would like to admit.

Stupid? Yes. Fun? FCkin A!

The carbs are sucking so are not affected by gravity as much at angle. Don't think it would run inverted tho.

I had no doubt that they COULD do wheelies, but I guess I always questioned whether one SHOULD do them on their own personal bike. Getting one supplied by Triumph would be good so I could throw caution to the wind and ***** the consequences.

Sweatmachine: Would you recommend learning to wheelie on one of these things ? I imagine learning to control a wheelie would be quite difficult on something of this wheel base. I have heard that the first stage of learning to wheelie is to do power wheelies without the clutch - (like on a speed triple) ?

As always, discussion of wheelies turn to discussion of the potential destruction of fork selas etc..

Learn to wheelie on a dirt bike, learn where your two balance points are, learn to feather the throtle, and always cover the rear brake.
