soo i tend to be a loner when it comes to biking - tired of telling stupid people why i bought a bonnie instead of a gixxer or hd. but on a whim i joined up with the local rat pack this weekend - wow smart people - we talked all kinds of bikes but it was not about the biggest or fastest. very cool. and it was funky to ride in a big group -

I met a guy today from Boston on a Bonneville. He bought it used and had a few niggles with it at first, but as soon as they were sorted out he loves it and had no qualms at all about riding this far from home.
I have yet to make a RAT ride because of conflicting schedules with dates that coincide with our vintage bike club events. As an executive of the club I'm more or less expected to be there, but I hope to be able to do better next year and make one or two.

Want to ride up to Cape Breton, when is the best time of the year to ride up there? The Cabot Trail looks awesome!

Thanks!

I'm SO jealous. I lived in Nova Scotia for about a year - Halifax, Dartmouth, and Sydney. I'd love to be able to say that I would ride my bike all the way up there, but in all honesty I'd probably have to drive and tow the bike on a trailer. But it would be WAY worth it just to ride around NS for a few days.

Most Americans couldn't find Nova Scotia or New Brunswick or PEI on a map to save their lives - they think North America ends at Maine. Trust me guys, for the kind of riding a typical Bonneville owner loves, the maritime provinces would be absolute heaven, unless of course you have something against coastal highways, lighthouses, seafood, and don't even get me started on the colors of autumn.

If you don't believe me, take a look for yourself.

Just remember, that's KILOMETERS per hour, not MILES, you reckless, crazy Americans!

KingBear pretty well said it all.
I just got back from the Cabot Trail and the weather was wonderful this time of year. Right after Labor Day is an ideal time to ride the Trail because the tourists have left and Indian summer is upon us. Come prepared for cold nights and mornings.
Hurricane Florence swept in yesterday so I got out of there and didn't stay the three days I normally do. Flo was mainly a lot of wind as the tail end came around. She's gone now.

Hi there N.S. raters. I finally got to visit Your great province and paid a visit to Bro's Cycle in Windsor-great people! Met some real friendly folks , Jane and Steve on a Sprint who treated us to true East Coast hospitality. We got to see the Bike Circle on Friday night in downtown Halifax. Thanks for the memories.
