Excellent forum site!

I am new here, currently riding a 2006 Buell Ulysses, thinking about getting a Scrambler.

Can anyone recommend a Triumph dealer in Texas?

I am on the third coast...no dealers here...I know I will have to travel a ways.

Lone Star in Austin has always treated me well. I don't know of any real beef anyone's had with them and I know of about a half dozen people that have bought there.

Their service guys are really good nice guys too.

RPM Cycles in Dallas is great (www.rpmcycletx.com). Of course that's a few hundred miles from you! Texas is a BIG place!

I've seen posts from a Triumph owner in Corpus. Might try a search on this site and see if you can find him.

Another site several of us from Texas use is Two Wheeled Texans, twtex.com. A lot of riders from Houston, some from Corpus. There has been discussion on that site about shops in the Houston area, which is still a pretty good run up the road for you.

That Scrambler is a great looking bike. Not ridden one yet, but I like the feel of the bike and what a classic look.

As mentioned already, Lone Star is a good one.

I bought my bonnie at the Euro Shop in Waco. They have the best collection of Triumphs I've seen. Lone Star has more Scramblers though.

If only Joe Harrison Motor sports in San Antonio hadn't given up Triumphs. I bought my last pre-Triumph bike there four summers ago, and they were Honda & Triumph dealer at the time. They gave up Triumphs years ago. But, in retrospect, I think that's what first got me lookin' at 'em.

Anyway, IMO there are three things to consider. Proximity, dealer service, and lastly their selection, (because most dealers will locate what you want anyway). Now naturally you would like your dealer to be right down the street. But you my friend, well you got a problem there. Since Joe Harrison no longer sells Triumph, then I'd say Houston and Austin pretty much tie for first in proximity.

Now, I can't speak for any Houston area dealers, but I did purchase mine from Lone Star in Austin. Once I got past the usual horrid sales ritual (you'll find anywhere), I've had nothing but pleasureful dealings with their parts and especially their service departments. They're kinda small and don't have a great selection. But I do see on their website that they have (2) blue scramblers still in stock. LOOK. They've moved (4) over the summer, because they had (6) when I bought my T100 there in early May.

Don't overlook this one, and it's only $10,999!

That thing has been sitting there for 6 months or more. I bet it sits for another 6.

lone star took great care of me when i went through austin in late june. i had my 12K mile service done there and i needed some warranty issues taken care of, they were booked up 3 weeks out but took me in at the last minute because i was touring. jeremy knows bonnevilles and got my bike running better than it ever has. i can't say enough positive things about that dealer and the time they took on my bike. i just wish i had a dealer like in my area.
