I'm interested in drilling the slide out to 3mm, can someone tell me how to do it?

Do you pull the diaphragm assembly out through the top of the carb along with the slide?

thanks

Yep, that's it. I used a 7/64 in drill and ran it thru a couple of times. I couldn't find a 3 mm drill bit.

Yep!

The hole is on the bottom corner of the slide, metric drill bits are hard to find a 7/64 is close to 3mm on the small side... You can also match balance the weight of the slides so they weigh the same.. To do this you can remove material from where the spring goes in on the top of the slide, using a dremel with a sanding drum.. It does not take much to get them perfect...

Before you go doing this realize the in 05 they widened the slides so you don't need to. I know they did on the cruisers and the bonnies too i'm sure because i believe they use the same carbs. I'm not sure of all the details and how wide they made them on the last 2 year models or whether going higher than they are now will be detremental. But you should find out before wasting your time. I know there are people at BA that know about this so they can probably give you some of the answers.
