Anyone coming out to the Blessing of the Cars in L.A. (Sylmar, actually) this Saturday?? It's a real early Brit Bike friendly event (as evidenced by the fact my Triumph Chopper has won best motorcycle twice. Once bare metal and once painted) It goes all day and they have a bunch of bands, low brow art for sale, plenty of vendors and a lot of eye candy for everyone. check out their website www.blessingofthecars.com

If you do go, look for the old 30's looking black Triumph with the springer front, plunger rear and Guinness bottle opener on the oil tank...I shouldn't be too far away from it. Stop on by and introduce yourself.

Hope to meet some of you out there.

Art.

Saw yer bike but didn't see anyone nearby - Bike looks great, except I'm not used to seeing Triumphs with no blue on the pipes! Just kidding.
Also enjoyed seeing the pretty girls with all the ink, and spent some time talking to some old musician pals. Thanks for posting the reminder here, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it. I went to this event in 2000 when it was in Glendale. I'm only good for one or two car shows per year, and I enjoy this one because it ain't your typical hot rod show.

...but did you see drops of oil under her???

Thanks for coming out, I'm sorry I missed you. This was the biggest turnout to date! We guess about 700 cars and bikes? There were just too many to see, I'm sure I was walking around admiring everything when you came by.

The organizer vetoed by "best motorcycle trophy" (I figured he'd do that) so the judges gave me "best cafe bike" instead. They told me to go along with it because they thought it was the best bike there. So, yeah, I guess my chop is now a cafe racer..

Just before the trophy ceremony, a guy was doing a photo shoot (with my permission, of course) of one of those pretty (and top heavy) inked girls on my bike and she instantly tipped it over. Fortunately it was on nice soft grass....no damage.

Still a great day...now if I could only get copies of those pictures...
