One of the best things about riding a Bonnie is the feeling of "coolness" from just being seen on it. I know riders of lesser brands have to feel envy and inadequacy when they see me on the road. They must feel like Brando or McQueen is right there on the same road they are. But, over and over, the same thing happens: and it happened again today.

There I am riding the T100 when a guy (or gal) on a Harley or Honda or something pulls up next to me. Today it was some kind of Honda. They look the bike over and I expect the usual "what year is it?" But most of the time I get something else: "Your turn signal is on."

The bike's cool, but I have a way to go.

I love it when they ask, WHAT YEAR IS IT? You know the person knows his stuff when they say that "I had one painted almost the same orange and white."

For those who don't understand, the 1966 T120R andT120TT were painted a very similar white with an orange stripe on the center of the tank. Our late son had both and loved them, but he really liked riding the T120TT out for coffee on a sunday and watching the Uppitiy Yuppy mommies hold their children closer when they heard the beast!!

That's funny.. although have to confess I've found my signal on long after I've turned twice now, and it's always the right hand signal. The siting of it right behind the brake cyclinder doesn't seem to make much sense.. in the very bright sun we're having at the moment over here it's actually quite difficult to see the flasher..

Is that a fair criticism or am I just making excuses..??!!

I did this the entire ride home from the dealer, 120 miles. I'm used to turning it off now, but I have to say I notice the turn signal being on less with a full face than a half helmet. Just because I can't see the light on the tank while wearing the full face.

I haven't had anyone own me about my turn signal being on yet, though I certainly have been guilty of leaving it on more than once!

I love it when I get asked what year my bike is. Sometimes I get an "Old or new?" What other bike do people buy new and spend tons of money trying to make look old?

Saying it's a 2005 feels good, but I think some 10 or 15 years down the line it's going to feel even better. That's what you get for investing in a classic. Timeless appeal and something that gets better with age.

Stopped for gas in Duncan Sunday at 105 miles. Didn't hit reserve. 2 gal. = 50 MPG.
The guy in the next pump said "Nice Trumpet". "Oh no" I thought. Here we go again. I said "Yeah it has 4000 miles on it". He said "You sure got her looking good. I used to ride a Harley" Now he is one of us because "he used to---"
I said it is a new Triumph. He said "You sure keeping it nice" & drove off. In a Dodge pickup. That tells it all right there.
When I am told my signal is on I just say I am going around the World to the right. (Or left)
