After a week of 100 deg temps and two thunder storms in three days with 80 mph winds, the weather in the St. Louis area cleared Saturday to give the truly perfect day for a ride. My first extended ride in almost 30 years, 420 miles of some of Missouri's roads that were made for two wheels. Anyone else get to enjoy the day? I think our three Triumphs were the only ones we saw all day! 400+ miles in a stock seat is all my 48 year old bottom can take, but I can't wait to try again!

Went out this morning with the local RAT pack. We meet up for breakfast at 8:30 than went for a ride up in the "hills" of Brooksville, FL. FYI..You must understand anything in Florida above sea level is a hill. Five Triumphs heading down the road. Did about 160 miles so understand about that 48 year old butt pain. We managed to miss all the rain except for one cloud burst that lasted maybe five minute. Of course it made the bike a mess so just finished cleaning it up.

Only bad thing was after we split up to head home. Stopped to get lunch at a little Hawaiin plate lunch dinner only to find they are out of business. Really bummed out about that one.

Had to laugh this morning while eating breakfast. Was a group of Harley guys that left before us. Looked out the window and see them looking the Triumphs over. They really gave the Bonneville a close look. Guess good looks never goes out of style. <LOL>

We saw our share of other bikes out also. No other Triumphs, just Harleys. You can tell who is only wearing a helmet because it's the law, Missouri is a state that has a helmet law, 90% of the Harley riders, some with what looks like a WWII German helmet on their heads. Did have a couple of guys on Electra Glides come over and talk. Very nice guys, liked our Triumphs, got a lot of compliments from them and everyone that saw them. It's great riding a bike that stands out from the crowd. As tired as my seat was I'm sure we'll do it again. Anyone know where you can get highway bars for a Bonnie?
