Hi there. Just joined the other day and can't believe the depth and breadth of discussions on this site. I thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself, if that's ok?
My ride is an '03 Bonnie (black but not Black). I bought it used this past May with about 950 mi on it. It's in perfect shape, mostly stock. Original owner had added a Norman Hyde solo saddle (which I plan to review soon), Staintune exhaust (upswept Thruxton style), short chrome front fender, fly screen (again ala Thruxton), Bella Corse bars (I believe Superbars), and a few other do-dads. Engine is pretty much bone stock. I believe plugs and wires were upgraded (NGK) as well as air cleaner. Still has AI.
I believe I'll lose the fly screen (don't care for the look) and will probably put the stock fender back on to help keep road spray off (it's primarily a daily driver and I've been out on wet roads more than once already).
This is my first bike. I now believe the biggest mistake I've ever made is not buying one twenty years ago! I can't even begin to tell you how much I'm enjoying it. I bought a Triumph because my dad had a few in the 60's and 70's and I've always just loved the look and sound of them. Some of my earliest memories are of motorcycles. Now I'm passing the passion on to my kids and wife who seem as happy to watch me ride as I am to ride. They will all be on the bike shortly too.
