I bought a 2005 black bonneville, with the TOR's, tach kit, and a backrest on the seat, knee pads, with 2000 miles on it, for $5600.00 today. I pick it up tomorrow.

Besides the blue pipes, it looks brand new.
I heard it run, it sounds sweet.

It still has the air injection and the snorkle on it....

Should be a nice ride home!

It may make yo feel even better to know that I baught mine brand new and it had blue pipes. The dealer does a test ride after prep, so the pipes are typically blue on new bikes too.

Yes, I read the fine print!

To much traffic to have tech questions and general biker banter on the same forum?

Anyway, I am waiting to see how I like the bike.
Its going to be a chore jumping between right and left side shift. All the power and smoothness will be nice though!

I did about 130 miles on it today, about 60 getting home from the dealers, and another 60 or so later.

Poping from the exhaust (must remove the air injection),
the bike was smooth and fast, but need the 18 or maybe even the 19 tooth front sprocket, the motor has enough power to pull that easy..
The off road silencers are to quiet, I cant hear the exhaust at all at speed, and that is how I track my speed somewhat, by engine sound.
After the days riding, I checked things out and found the carb mounting rubbers loose, and gas mixture spraying out on the intake manifolds, plus the crankcase vent hose was not on its airbox nipple, that is why I do my own work on bikes and cars...

I have not found a comfortable setting for the bars yet, if I ever do, They were to far forward/high on the way home, later after I changed them I got a pain in my left elbow, odd...
I put them about half way between the two positions.

The motor does make a lot of mechanical noise when its hot, but it sounds normal to me.

I am really excited about the electric start, I have not had that for the last 15 years or so!

The bike was very nice 2 up with the wife, although our butts got sore and my elbow had pain (odd)..

Looks like the new bike is going to be around for a long time...
