Hello all... I am new to this, so go easy on me. I am in the process of converting my '72 oil-in-frame Bonneville into a rigid-framed bobber. I purchased a complete hard-tail frame from Brit Cycles, and I am underway. I have my original front end in place, the motor in place, and the rear wheel installed. Now for the questions... First, despite being made on a jig, how straight are these aftermarket frames typically? It appears that the rear wheel is spaced properly and inline with the backbone of the frame, but the chain is not perfectly aligned between the sprockets. From the best that I can tell, it seems like it is the motor that is not aligned properly. Perhaps the motor mounts are not welded perfectly centered and in place? What's the best way to trouble shoot my situation? Any feedback, info, tips, etc. would be much appreciated. Thanks!
