While I didn't get any pics myself, they are starting to roll in from random sites. Here are a couple:

By the end of the day, both sides of the street were lined up with bikes.

No. It's pure Anglophilic nostalgia. Our country's great socio-economic divides have always been along pettier and meaner lines.

I guessed as much. No self respecting rocker would be seen dead fraternising with scooter boys.

Even now after 35 years I nod at most bikes I pass and look down with distain on scooters :hammer: :hammer:

Everytime I see some dorky guy on a scooter, I hear the Benny Hill theme song, and I laugh at them.

:hihi: :hihi:

Of course, the scene is not "Brint only."

I was born many years after rockers and mods (well, mostly rockers) rocked the streets of the U.K. Yet, I enjoy the classic looks. Hell, I was not even born in a Western country Some things just do not make sense, do they? There are rock-n'-roll clubs in Japan where members try to imitate the American scene of 50s and 60s. In Germany there are clubs that, alas!, dedicate their time and money to the lifestyle known as "country" in the United States: line dancing, cowboy hats, food, etc.

Heritage and coolness is one of the reasons why I am looking at a Triumph. If I am to crash (knock on wood here), I'd rather do it in style

I cant deny that the scene is now worldwide, but the original 'trouble' between Mods and Rockers was a purely British phenomenon.

Two completely contrasting lifestiles resulted in several years of seaside classes at such places as Margate and Brighton during our Summer holidays.

There was little friendly about the meetings in those days
Even this image still makes me want to push his face in and I am approaching 60 now and a respectable retired scientist.
