I just got back from a beautiful weeklong 600 mile trip; now that I am back I am experiencing an intermittent sound that is hard to explain. I have currently 3700 miles on the bike with original chain and 18t sprocket which was switched out at around 2400 miles. It seems every other time I am at a stop sign or a red light when I engage the clutch and get moving about ¾’s the way through engaging the clutch I hear a “clunk” which is mighty close sounding to the clunk the trans makes when you shift. It’s almost as if the chain is catching up on the front sprocket or something. It doesn’t do this every time and maybe I’ll go an hour of driving before I hear it again.
Note other than this symptom the ride is fine.
Thanks
Pete
