I just bought a 06 Speedmaster and it looks like it is leaking oil as well, I heard it might be cozolene? which I guess is used as a protectant fluid when shipping that gets burned off while riding, either way it smells like oil and it smokes a bit, anybody experience this with a brand new speedmaster?

Bike has only 60 miles

It would help to know just where this leak might be...hard to say not knowing the location.

As Larry said. However, heres a thought. Mine leaked tiny amounts since new also. It eventually got worse and one day i smelled oil buring big time and looked down to see one header covered in oil and smoking like a chimney. What happened is that the oil line at the point where it attaches to the oil cooler was leaking. It was a very simple fix, and it could happen at the lower point too, so check them both along with any other oil line attachment points if there are any others. (can't picture if there are more or not at the moment)

Anyway, if thats it, fix is as follows. Remove the bolt that attaches the oil line and remove the copper washer(s). cant remember if there was 1 or 2, but probably 2. Take some sandpaper, preferably about #400 wet and dry paper and lay it on a flat surface. Run both sides of the washer(s) over the sandpaper till as smooth as it gets and no big grooves/scratches in it. reassemble. That should seal it up good. DO NOT try to fix the leak by tightening the he|| out of it ! That won't work....ask me how i know. :-D

Some say you can do it by annealing the washers by heating them up with a welding torch, but not all of us have access to one and the sand paper trick works fine. That or if you want you can always buy new washers. Anyways, if that IS the problem thats your fix.
