After installing a new set of D and D pipes onto '06 Bonnie - i noticed that there is no longer a stop/buffer provided. I'm looking for any recommendations - I was thinking of extending the existing bracket on the stand to contact the swing arm, but that might get a little long! :???:

I have the same problem with the burgess style mufflers I recently put on. If anyone has a method/fix for this that works, some pics posted would be a great help. I have a 2001 Bonneville. I was thinking of a small bracket bolted on the bracket that the center stand pivots from that would act as a stop for the stand.

A bit tacky I realize..... but it works:

I used a little leather Mag Light (flashlight) holder, hid the worm-screw mechanism of the pipe clamp I used to tighten it to the center-stand, and shot it all with some flat Black paint.

The resulting leather and worm-screw mechanism in the flashlight pouch area silences the clang of the center-stand banging against my pipe.

Thanks for the ideas, but there's another problem - the stand will actually also hit against the chain and the chain has the correct tension.
- My other idea is to weld a small block of steel stock as a stop on the center stand bracket.

I used a furniture level adjuster-1/4" thread and adjustable with a rubber bumper that comes on the end. I drilled a hole in the centerstand and tightened it so the stand would not hit the chain on the other side. I glued a square cut piece of leather (old belt) to the bumper , sprayed it black and it really is not noticeable and works great for a year now.
