I bought a new T100 3 weeks ago I bought it and picked it up a week later. When I picked it up it had 9 miles on it. The salesman said the mechanic took it for a prep ride to insure all is okay. The store manager said that is triump protocal to make sure it is okay. Is taht the norm with everyone else?

Mine had 9 miles on it as well. I work at a Volvo dealership, and when we do a pre-delivery inspection, we're supposed to drive them a few miles as well. I wouldn't sweat the 9 miles.

i would say that that is normal,,, and it is very important to seat the rings properly in the first few miles,,, high engine pressures are needed to fully seat the rings, and your mechanic probably did just that for you in those 9 miles. leaving you to follow break-in procedure.

Are you really worried about 9 miles? That doesn't qualify it as a demo. My mechanic took the TBA out in town and then on the interstate before turning it loose. It had 8, or 9 miles on it when I picked it up.

Mine was an '03 that was still new on the floor in Jan '05, it had 32 miles on it, I assume from various test rides etc. I didn't care that is really insignificant, especially since I will have 17,000 miles by the time I get home from work tomorrow morning....

I think I would have preferred mine to have 9 or 10 miles on it. At least you could be reasonably sure that some pre-delivery preparation had taken place. They could have put 2/10 on it pushing it between the workshop and showroom !
