I'm pretty sure Triumph sells a little rack that goes behind the seat for use with a fabric, square bag, but I'm looking for something with more security.

I already use the Triumph brand tank bag, but I have to take the bag with me whenever I get off the bike. A metal or plastic box that locks to the rack somehow would be ideal. I could leave my jacket, gloves and other stuff in the box.

Has anyone seen anything like this on a Bonneville that wasn't improvised?

So, I found this http://newbonneville.com/html/renntec_sports_rack.html rack that goes behind the seat. I like it and it's almost reasonably priced, but what would I put on it? I need a locking, secure plastic or metal box that would be impossible to remove from the rack.

Get a large ammo can from the army surplus store. Drill some holes in the bottom and screw it in from the inside.

That's a good idea and I bet it's cheap, too.

Should I screw the box to the rails directly?

I'm getting all excited. heheh :-D

Is it possible to lock the ammo box closed?

With the help from Google I'm answering all of my questions.

Cool! Now I just have to figure out what size box would fit the rack best.

Does anyone know of any racks made for the Bonneville that are cheaper than $144?

I can't wait to get a real job so I can afford all this stuff.

Does anyone think a 17" high, 14" wide box behind the seat would look completely crazy?

I don't think I care that much as to how it will look because it will be such a convenience to have a "trunk." I plan on keeping my rain suit, locks and helmet visor in there, plus whatever else I need to transport. Currently I'm using the Triumph tank bag, but have to take it with me every time I get off the bike.

I'll post pics as soon as I get it all installed.

Hmm, that reminds me; I should start a gallery.
