I realize the poyential danger in using my passenger pegs as rearsets but you really cant beat it for coming stock and not spending 300+ bucks on rearsets . i find them a awsome alternate riding position on longer trips and to really tuck down chest to tank for aerodynamics.
who else enjoys these alternate footpegs?
at one time i was going to pull them from the bike for a cleaner look , seeing is how i am a solo rider. what a mistake that would of been. :-D

I do it whenever conditions allow and especially since I put the M bars on the bike. It can't be any worse than having your feet in front with no controls. Just pick your spots carefully.

I also used the rear pegs while riding on longer stretches of highway. It gives me another position and especially seems to rock me forward enough to get me off of my seat somewhat. I kind of discovered it the first time in 1975, I was 17 and riding out to Colorado with my brother-in-law on his 1971 Yamaha XS650. He also had highway pegs which gave me 3 places to put my feet. And on a 2000 mile round trip it was nice. That was a nice bike. I heard it called a Japanese Bonneville.

Just did 500 miles last weekend on my Thruxton and that was the preferred highway position for sure! It did leave my calves cramping the next day but was easier on my wrists and elbows. I imagined a little chin rest protruding from the forward tank and I may have been comfortable enough to fall asleep...

I'm all about usning the passenger pegs as rearsets...I might even replace all of them with something funky from brent. put your feet back and tuck down behind the flyscreen and this thing's good for 115 guaranteed.
