Hi Guys,

Im just fitting a set of Keihin CR carbs and K&N pod filters to a 790 Bonnie and they seem to fall out of the rubber manifolds because of their weight. My question is has anyone got any pics of how the brace fits to the CR carbs? I know it goes somewhere..

Cheers

Oliver

Extra Motorcycle: dya mean the one outside?
I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but here's how I braced my CVKs when I fitted a pair of K&Ns.

Oliver,

Loop the P clamp through the slotted carb crossbrace and attach the other end of the brace to the top rear motor mount using the pre-existing hole. Adjust the turnbuckle until the carbs do not sag.

Thanks for the info guys.

Mike, I was trying to use the brace from an old SB kit that I had, looks like I'll use one from your ARkit.

When I took the old CVK carbs off I left the TPS connected and untouched. Do I need to reconnect it when using the CR carbs or can I just leave it off all together. If I do re-connect the TPS what happens when I want to use the stock CVK carbs again can I re-set the TPS back to standard?

Regards

I've got the CRS carbs on my Speedmaster, there is no provision on them to use the TPS wiring. I'm using RaceDweeb's carb brace, in the manner that he is suggesting, and I'm not having any problems with the carbs / pods weighing out of the manifold boots.
