I certainly hope that some one from Triumph is paying attention to this topic.

I for one will NEVER!! buy another new Triumph if they start making bikes outside of the UK. ">

Like stated before, The major deciding factor in purchasing a Triumph for me was the heritage and the fact that the men in my family have owned them for almost 100 years ( unfortunately they didn't save any for me) and I would like to continue the tradition as long as they are a British made product.

What's all this "I will never buy another Triumph" bullsh!t and yapping about buying the bike because of its British heritage??

My Thruxton has German wheels, an Italian seat, Japanese brakes, ignition AND carburettors. Who gives a rats a$$ where the thing is built, there is very little of it that is actually made in England anyway.

The truth is, regardless, the whole is better than the sum of its parts!!!

While I understand that the electronics and other small items may be manufactured and assembled outside of the UK, the Bikes assembly and major components should still be completed in Britain with British quality and control.

It's real simple actually..........some love triumph for different reasons than others. If it interferes with your reason, then you'll be bothered by it. If it doesn't, then you won't.
To me the triumph name stood for something in my mind that it no longer will when it gets closer and closer to becoming asian made in more and more respects. That may mean little to some, but to me it means a lot. In fact, it means less to me now just by the fact many parts are outsourced and the company was bought and reserrected by a person who had nothing to do with the original. But i'm still there and hanging on. There is no right or wrong here, it's 100% subjective and it's a issue of the heart. I think most everyone has some material object that holds at least part of it's value to them in it's history or such. Some feel that way about triumphs, some don't.

I have looked at all the posts, and think I have at least apart answer. It is no use trying to reason logically about this issue, because bikes, especially something like a retro Triumph is something with soul. The choice you made on buying one was not just rationale, but a decision from the heart, an emotion. You just cant reason logically with emotions.
I think in part this is one of the reasons I am drawn to the Enfield... What heritage has that bike? It is made and assembled in India, asia. But it certainly does not evoke anything asian to me. I remember them from my youth, and they are one of the few links I have left with that time.

I bought two that were both made in England so I don't give a frogs fat @$$ where they make the rest of them now.

I guess when they start making them in Thailand the ones we have now will be worth more! Cool!

Seriously, who cares? They are Triumphs, and they are very cool bikes, who cares where they are made?

Ride safe.
