Starting to look around for a shorty helmet like the Bell shorty or bell drifter for short jaunts. Anyone wear one of these that could recommend a better one for the money. :-D

I agree that Davida is expensive, but what an awesome helmet. I just recieved my Classic Jet and it is great. Looks couldn't be better, DOT, very quite, hand made and leather lined... if price is an issue I would go with the Bell. I still have my half helmet that was custom painted to match my previous Harley, get ready for lots of wind noise with the half helmet.

I saw an episode of biker build offs(Lane vs. Bourget) and roger Bourget was wearing a shorty type helmet, but I can't figure what the make is. Pretty cool lid though... :-D

Have you looked at the Nomad or Drifter helmets from Z1R? They are dirt cheap yet score very high on safety tests. I got this one for my back seater and she really likes it.

I enjoy my Bell shorty for short rides around town. I always keep the removable neck/earpiece in because I think it looks better in than out. Kirk

Like someone else said , lots of wind noise compared to a full face, O.K. for short jaunts to the drug srore etc.etc, but not for me on longer rides.

Check out the Head Trip DOT helmets. I've been wearing mine for 2 years now and really like it for summer use.

Head Trip :-D

I couldn't use a half-helmet without my windshield, way too much wind roar.
Picked this up for $2 today at a show in Germantown MD:

It's pretty old and I don't see any "DOT" stickers. <g>
