I have one of these I got last month, I lovge it. Light, looks good, seems well made and not too expensive, I think I paid $53.00. Its DOT approved, also. Type Daytona Helmets into Google, the website will pop up.

HJC helmets are a good value. However, like others the half-shell is a little too noisy for me. I use a 3/4 helmet with a snap-on shield for summertime.

Check out the Head Trip DOT helmets. I've been wearing mine for 2 years now and really like it for summer use.

Head Trip :-D
I have the Head Trip also. Excellent quality and great looks. I should have got the ear pads though, to minimize wind noise.

I've got an HJC that I use for commuting the 3 miles to work, but on longer rides I use a full face. I also keep the ear/neck piece zipped in cuz I look like a total tard with it zipped out... It was pretty inexpensive too, and it's DOT approved as well. Not a bad choice for just messing around town.

Jimmy,

There's nothing like the free-spirit feeling that any kind of open face helmet offers; however, and I found this out the hard way, if you commute down a country road in late spring and summer, in the evening, then you are 99% certain to eat some protein that is just coming out for the night! :tasty:
I've heard good things about the Davida ones. Whatever you get though, I would highly recommend NEW, unless you know the person from whom you are buying has not dropped or damaged the helmet.

Thumbs up from me on the Z1R Nomad. Comes with a zip out ear flap system for use on colder days.
