I put a custom open exhaust on my bike along with a uni filter and removal of the rubber grommet on air box. I'm also running 130 mains which were the only jets I tampered with but the plugs are still white. I tried to use the jetting calc. offered through the forum but i think i'm still running a bit lean. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong?

You'll probably need to replace your pilot jets also. After lots of experimenting, trial and error and advice from members on this forum I wound up with 125 mains, 42 pilots and a thruxton needle.
I previously ran 140 mains, 45 pilots and the standard needle which caused hesitation in the 5200 RPM range.
I also have an open exhaust system, snorkel and restrictor removed, Uni filter and a belmouth installed.

If your plugs are white you should get it srted quickly - it could get hot enough to melt the piston crowns!

Well, for one thing like many others you're ignoring the more important jetting issue......the needles. The mains aren't what is influencing the plug color unless you are riding it near full throttle all the time. People change mains and think thats the end all and be all of jetting, but they miss the fact that most of your riding is done in the needle's range, not the mains. I would try shimming the needles. Try one shim at first. If it runs fine in all ways including wound out thru gears, go to 2 shims. You could even go 3 and if it begins running incorrectly back down to 2. But i think by the time you hit 3 it's thruxton needle time.

Anyway, the 130's are as high as you'd probably want to go on the mains. Might even be too rich regardless of the plug color unless you ride full out all the time. But shim those needles ! Thats definatly your problem IMO. You're running pipes UNI and snorkel off which is a good bit of change from stock, yet you have stock needles. By the way, you should also find that the shims will give you a good and possibly suprising boost in midrange power and accelleration.

Dazco,
Is there a reason you like the TBS needles over the Thruxton needles?
I am currently running the Thruxton needles,130 mains, snorkle removed,Uni filter, bottom of airbox & filter drilled.
Bike seems to run good.
I was thinking of trying the TBS needles just for the heck of it.
What do you think?
