It was a short one, but a nice one. Again, I learned more about me and my bike.
The ride was a solo 110 miles with temp at 88 degrees.
My route was north, east and then south.
Got caught in two light rains that were pleasantly cool.
Saw eight Honda trikes riding together and a few other folks on bikes.
But the most unexpected was on a long smooth empty country road with the wind blasting me. I had turned south and realized suddenly that now I was riding into the wind. After several miles of this I slowed down to the posted limit of 55 and cruised on hoping Parabellum would send my windshield back in a hurry as this wind was a real bummer. Bored. Sped up. Wind beating me again. Without thinking about it I slid back, leaned down and sped up. 70, 80, Hey, this feels good! At 90 I slowed back to 70 but knew at that moment that I loved the speed and I wanted more. Sport bike? Thruxton? Convert my Bonnie? It was a RUSH! I want more. :-D  Commuting ain't gonna get it.

Dennis :-D

Good stuff Dennis!
Sundays are great for riding. Traffic is usually lighter than on Saturdays and most riders seem to get an early start.

We left about 9AM and stopped for breakfast after about half an hour on the road. Then we continued west to the Delaware River and followed Old Mine Road north along the river on the NJ side. We barely saw another car over the next hour and a half. We were back home doing chores just after noon.

Later in the day we saw an old Norton being ridden 2-up. They looked very happy!

Nothing wrong in getting a kick out of speed, if you feel like it and you think you can cope with it.

From the Triumph range I can recommend the Daytona 675, everyone says it is a fast bike that can give you the right adrenalin rush. Personally I doubt that I could survive having a bike like that, but then I have no character when it comes to speed.

Make a test ride, the best way to find the path to satisfaction.
