Hi, I've been using my parabellum scout fairing on my triumph bonneville over the last week or two and it's been great.
But this weekend we were riding two-up for the first time since installing the fairing. Above 60mph I was having a problem with my full face helmet vibrating. I don't know if the wind was shooting up over my head, coming down behind me and then bouncing of my passenger or what but there was definitely some air disturbance and enough to create a bad vibration just in the area of my head. I told my wife to lean way out to one side and when she did it stopped. Have you had anything like this happening before? Any suggestions? Maybe the fairing or windshield needs an adjustment? Or a different height windshield? I have the 16" and can just see over it so my only choice would be to go smaller since I don't want to look through it. And we are both pretty much the same height.
If you can think of anything, let me know. I have not installed the rubber trim around the fairing yet but I don't think that would make a difference.

I've also contacted Parbellum but they haven't had this complaint before.

Thanks!

Don't they give you a 30 day test period? If you still can, maybe trade your screen for a taller one. IMO, which is worth what it costs you, is that when it comes to screens everybody wants to keep them low and still expect to have full protection. When I talked to them about the Scout screen they recommended a 20-21 in. screen. for good, no buffeting protection. I think I will go that route and only use it for longer trips or when it is too cold to pass it up.

I get a lot of vibration in my helment too. I don't have a fairing, just a windshield. I may take it off for summer. I raised it about an inch today & it was better at noon. I am going to try to angle it more vertical. There goes my mileage & speed.

Anchorbend, ya i tested it but didn't know someone sitting behind me would make a difference. And i really don't want to look THROUGH the screen. I want to look over. It gives awesome protection from the wind, i sometimes forget to put my visor down. And no buffeting at all riding single.

I don't believe the trim would help. Parabellum told me the trim has 2 purposes: 1) Looks; 2) Protection in advent of a crash--it covers the edges that could break and become sharp.

I have the King/Queen seat; however, I have not had a pillion who was my height or taller. I'll try to get my son (he's an inch taller than me) to take a ride with me next week.

Good luck,
Larry

Thanks Larry, I also have the K/Q seat but was going to try the stocker.

vol245, do you have a passenger when you experience the vibration?

No I never have a passenger. After riding down the freeway for a long ways I sometimes tuck behind the fairing to get out of the turbulence. I can't do that any more since it is off though.

Hi Dennis,
I have a 20" parabellum windshield and experience slight buffeting when riding single. No increase or decrease that I can detect when riding double.

I first installed the shield with M bars on the bike and did not notice the buffeting until I re-installed the stock bars. Otherwise recommend the 22 inch screen.
