Do you ride with your high beam on in the daytime to save your low beam for night riding?

The high beam seems to be pretty useless at night, other than nicely illuminating the treetops and my front tire.

Based on some of the sage advice here and from a fellow RAT Pack member, I switched to the Sylvania Silverstars H-4 bulb and it's w-a-y better than the stock bulb.

It may be brighter than the stock bulb, but until you change the lens, with the current fluting pattern, you will just get a brighter view of your fender and the tree tops..Its all about the lens.

I've read about installing headlamps and different bulbs. I agree that the stock light is a sorry piece of equipment but has anyone looked into changing the lens? Are different ones available? I'll bet someone knows something that could be shared with us all. Thanks in advance.

The sealed beam solution has been circulating here for a couple weeks.
Cheap
easy
effective

Yes I have done it and it is much better. It also costs only $15 or so.

I saw a post here and had a similar experience years ago with several bulbs and seal beams not standing up to the vibration and shock associated with bikes.
