So I never got to test ride the Thrux until I rode it off the lot on Wed. Love it is an understatement. I cant begin to describe the pain in the hands and wrist I have. I cant describe it because I don't really care. The pain is worth it. I hope that someone can help me with a question about break in. I have about 140 miles on it already and I have to do a little commute on the highway. I have not gone over 70mph. I make sure that the rpm's don't get over 5000. Is it ok to be doing 10 - 20 stints on the highway at 70mph? How long till I can open her up and see what happens? I have not done any mods yet but soon I can tell. I need louder pipes. Sounds more like a crotch rocket then a Triumph. Please let me know about the break in period and speed limitations I should be aware of. Thanks

If any are in the Portland, OR area send a message. Love to go for a ride. If any have new bikes, lets break them in.
Thanks

Congrats on the new bike clownboy

My dealer advised me to break my T100 in as per the following; -

1) up to 500 miles - no more than half of max revs (4000) and don't sit at a constant speed for any length of time just keep moving your speed around a bit

2) after your first service - no more than three quarters full revs - I take that to be about 5500 revs till 1000 miles is completed - again don't sit at one speed for any length of time

3) 1000 miles - go boy the world is yours

Lord love a masochist.
About the highway thing, your going to get the whole range of opinions on this question.
I personally would not do it, if it had a few more miles on it then I would say go for it.
If you do decide/have to do it, then at least warm the bike up fully and vary your speed when your on the highway.
My bonnie was horrendously tight when new. I broke mine in pretty hard and at 1.5k miles it just started to feel right.
This is just my opinion and it isn't worth a d a mm. I'm sure the very next response will be the exact opposite.
Enjoy & welcome.

Ride often......your wrist will eventually toughen-up. I've put 2000+kms on mine in two weeks, my wrists don't hurt as bad as they did in the first week.

I'm noticing the same thing. I am getting used to it.

I am still going to change out the awful stock grips with some Spiders. They are the most comfortable thing I have ever run on my off road toys.
