Hey guys,
First, I'd like to introduce myself as a new member of the forum. I have ridden dirt bikes for about 35 years, but never owned a street bike. My last bike was a 1978 Yamaha TT-500 thumper, I sold it about 10 years ago. I have always been a big fan of British bikes though, the Yammahopper was basically a BSA substitute for me. I'm a big fan of low end power. . I am now looking for a bike to ride to work and back, and also putt around on the dirt and gravel roads around here, so the Scrambler looks like a perfect fit for me. The thing is, the few dealers around here want MSRP + shipping, setup, and sales tax, making this deal hard for me to swallow. Heck, I can get Harley 883 Sportster for alot less dinero, and put trail tires on it. Are these guys full of "it" or what? What are they getting for Scramblers near YOU?

In Kansas City, MSRP. Stae collects sales tax, no freight or setup.

I was the first to order mine and got the dealer to take 300.00 off and throw in the headlight trim, skidplate, crossbar, and number boards. they did charge me for the crossbar pad, center stand, and freight and setup. I ordered mine in October right after I heard about it coming in and the dealer only will receive a total of two. I feel I was pretty lucky with the deal I got. I absolutely love the bike and get asked all of the time what year it is. You should see the faces when I tell them it is a 2006. If you decide on the Scrambler, there is a Triumph dealer that keeps listing their Scramblers on Ebay and the last one was a red one that has a "Buy It Now" option for 7,500.00. I told my local shop that they should buy the thing since they could get probably MSRP for it. Skip the Harley!

Ben

P.S. I got some really cool 278 decals made up for my helmet with Mushman on it... Metroracing..you can get them with a white or yellow oval and they are cheap!

Paid $14,000 for mine in Canada. That included freight, set up and taxes. Absolutely nothing extra!
