Picked up my 2006 graphite TBA yesterday. Rode it home thru 20mi of rush hour stop and go suburban traffic . This morning I left early and did a nice long loop on some much mellower deserted roads.

Overall I got to say wow - I was very nervous leaving the dealers lot, but everything quickly came together and felt very natural. This bike is easy to ride well, feels stable at all speeds and is best of all for me, very predictable.

I'm a newer rider, with maybe 20hrs of previous experience on friends and co workers bikes. I took the beginner MSF course 2 years ago and will be taking the intermediate MSF class next month.

Mods to date: Roadster screen, Epco Stainless pipes, Removed the AI, and Rejetted.

I will post pics as soon as I can. I'm at my desk w/o a camera at the moment. Perhaps tommorow or sunday.

Thanks for a great forum, and lots of great info.

Nate

Those words could have well come out of my mouth. I felt exactly the same as i first got on mine and drove out of the dealers lot. In fact i've said that here a few times. I wasn't a newbie but i hadn't owned a bike in 2 decades when i bought my speedmaster. I also many times have stated how stable the bike is. Thats one thing i immediatly loved about it......as tho it's on rails. Have fun, ride safe. And take it slow as you're learning. Bikes can go down real easy before you have much experience so take it slow, watch feverishly for water, sand and obstacles. And assume every driver is out to hit you. It took me years before i realized just how aware you have to be to stay upright and i paid the price a few time. So be vigilent.

Right on Brother. I just about went with that exact same model - sweet looking ride. I ended up opting for the all black Speedy. Borought it home last friday, and as of this evening have put my initial 500 break in miles on her. I am very much wanting to begin mods, but will wait until later in the summer when it is much more "broken in". keep you head up, paint up, and rubber down. never get in a hurry because you will find yourself on the ground in a hurry. Enjoy your new ride, be safe, and welcome to Triumph (that kind of sounds funny cause i am a rookie Triumphee myself).

Nate, congratulations! You got a great bike and a SWEET color!

I got the Speedmaster as a first bike and it has turned out to be an outstanding bike to learn on. It's just perfect in every way, and I'm guessing you'll find your America the same.

Just take it slow and "ride your ride" and it will all come to you. Remember what you learned in the MSF course.
All the best. Looking forward to your pictures!

Nate-

Way to go! There are plenty of us new riders, and great support from the vets. Go at your own pace; its not a contest. Its about learning, stretching and having fun, on your own terms.

Good on ya.
