I preordered a Triumph manual from Jenks the other day. Do you think it might be a good idea to also get the Triumph Factory Service Manual ordered through the dealer? I have no intention of doing heavy duty internal wrenching, but like to know whats in there and how it works. Sometimes I get brave and do stuff that takes a week for me and a couple hours for someone else.

With all the vehicles I love, I purchase every manual that I can find. Each presents a unique approach on every task and you are most likely to understand a procedure before you every undertake it when you check out each book first. Plus, it's just plain fun to accessorize...

wonderdog-

The Triumph manual, at $75, or so, has been the subject of great debate, and a wide range of opinions. Some feel it is of good value while others feel it is almost worthless.

As of yet, but soon!, the merits of the Haynes manual have yet to be determined. Most are optimistic abouts its usefulness and value.

For me, I have the Triumph manual, but am hoping for far better things from the Haynes; especially pics vs. line drawings.

We shall see....

I belong to the latter group. I can't imagine the haynes being as bad or worse, so i'd stick with that.

I belong to the prior group but it can't hurt to own both. If you have the factory manual you can make sure the Haynes is correct. :-D
