I did the airbox mod.
Bike seemed to run better.
Then I noticed that the lights in my light bar quite working.
No tailight,brake light works.
No light in my tach or speedometer.
Changed the 5amp fuse that they are hooked into.
I keep blowing fuses.
Maybe I messed it up when I took the harnes cover off to get the air filter out.
Cant find anything wrong there though.
Off to the dealer tomorrow.
Oh well.

Extra Motorcycle: dya mean the one outside?
When you say "airbox mod" do you mean the snorkle removal you mentioned before, or have you Freaked it?
I'm no great expert but, at a wild guess, I'd say - if the former: you may have knocked a connection loose on, or around, the cluster of relays positioned near the airbox intake, and if the latter; you might have damaged or shorted a wire by cutting or yanking it.
I hope it works out alright.

The airbox mod was drilling the bottom.
I cant find any any damaged wires.
All the connections seem secure.
The 5 amp fuse blows as soon as I turn the key.
Hope the dealer can find the problem.
Thanks for replying.

Theres that wire harness and connector that sits under that plastic cover next to the filter opening. Maybe theres a short there. Maybe you tightened it down with a wire under the edge of the plastic and cut thru the wire's cover so it's shorting against the frame. Just a thought.

Dazco,
Thats what I thought also.
I have looked with a light & magnifying glass.
Cant find anything loose or cut.
Maybe if I had a ohm meter & knew how to use it I could find something.
Guess I will just tell the dealer the truth & hope for the best.
Nice to hear from you again Daz.
Hope things are going well for you.

Did you happen to disconnect anything? I ended up positively grounding my tail light when I put the Bonnie back together after the crash. Took 4 fuses (good thing my truck uses the same size) to figure that out.

did you take the airbox out to make the mods?

If so you must have had to loosen the battery and battery box. The battery box sort of 'seats' into place with some of the wire harness tucked in behind. Check that and the ground cable.

Ain't that always the way?! Something happens at the same moment you did something to the bike, but it's totally unrelated and you get fooled into looking at the area you were working in ! That can really be tricky.
