That looks great! I've been wanting to do that to my bike but wanted to wait until I had a spare cover in case it didn't turn out good. Did you have any problem with paint chipping? Also what type of file did you use? I was thinking a fine mill file would work nice. Thanks for posting the pics.

Nah, I got a chrome cover. I can't help myself. Some people dream in color - I dream in chrome. Too many years riding Harleys. Not sure if the chrome cover looks better or worse, but HEY it's chrome, now how bad can THAT be? :-D

Yours looks cool, by the way.

Dan; I used a small fine flat file. The paint files off easy. You have to make very deliberate strokes in order to avoid dinging the paint or you will have touchup to do. It was an easy 15 min job.
