I am 52 years of age and excited about placing the order for my T100. The old Bonnie is part of my Heritage. What is it about the Bonneville that appeals to the younger riders? I was pleasantly supprised to see young guys on the old retro Bonnie. Thanks, Chazz :-D

chazz-
You are one of the young (in mind and spirit) ones.
Truly; especially if you're thinking of making the move, at least partially, away from the GW.
Do it!

I was 31 when I got mine this time last year.
I like it cause it was different and kind of retro made modern.
I owned a couple vw new beetles in the past and when I bought the bonnie I had one of the new mini coopers. I'm a graphic designer and artist too, so image and design plays a part in everything I buy. I don't like blending into the crowd. Besides... what better bike is there as a first bike????

I bought mine as a first bike when I was still 28, I'm 30 now. Back then I was just surfing the internet looking up bike manufacturers and window shopping. Something made me me look for Triumph. Previously I hade no idea they had came and went and come back again. Then I clicked on the name that I was familar with Bonneville, done. After I saved the pic to screen saver and looked at that for a month or so I went and got the very same Blk/wht T100.
Its provided me all that I have needed, fun, uniqueness (escpecially that) and reasonable power for entry level.

If I can answer at the age of 38 – I still feel young does that count? One of the biggest draw towards the T100 for me is its esthetic. It gives me a feel of better days and better designs. I feel like I don’t fit into the crotch rocket scene and the HD are way to numerous and expensive for me. I don’t want to distinguish myself by the amount of chrome I can squeeze into my bike. But everyone feels differently on this subject. As long as you ride - it’s all good.
I first saw the Triumphs through movies (Steve McQueen being one of my favorite actors) and mags, also my best friend who has always owned BMW motorcycles, speaks highly of the Triumphs brand. He is very heavy into bikes so his words helped cement my decision on the T100. The bike brings “coolness” and a comfortable feeling that you don’t have to go fast or be too loud to be recognized as an individual. I amit the mod bug is starting to get me so I want to change my pipes to the Bub 2-2 system and make some changes to get a little more speed to the rear wheel. That’s why I started to read the threads on this web site; I have seen some great ideas on the mods of the Bonneville.
All in all, the bike is already unlike others but also I wanted quality, reliability and tradition mixed with today’s innovations. Plus the Triumph woman is hot.

26 now...bought mine at 24.....I hate crotch rockets since the day that I saw a crotch rocketeer answer his cell phone while riding.......I despise 1%er's.....enough said......
I am a 26er old that grew up in the wrong time and place. I play music out of an Orange amplifier which was made "World Renowned" by Sabbath and I ride bikes that look like they were built in 1965.....
I see no problem in this....

I'm 36, so not quite as young as some of the guys posting here, but for me the Thrux and Bonnie were the perfect blend of old and new. I think many people in my age group are more tail end baby boomers than Gen-X'ers and thus our tastes were probably shaped by a different dynamic than those younger. My dad had an early 60's Honda Super Hawk, and my first bike was a 71 Yamaha Enduro. I never really got into the crotch rocket thing, so the looks and soul of the Thruxton had me from the first time that I saw it.

I"m 23, after a year of riding around a 1970 ct90 i decided that motorcycleing was something that was going to be a part of my life,, when i was looking at bikes,,, i wanted something that would be good as a first bike, something that was easy to handle, something that was beautiful.. I also wanted something i could work on and learn how to work on bikes on,... and i don't think i could stand to be "another harley owner". plus i think they look kinda silly. i'll be honest though,,,, if it looked like that new norton was coming out anytime soon,, i would have waited for that,,, so my bonneville begins my journey through motorcycle history.
plus it's fun making it the way i want it
