I was curious to know if there are governors on the thruxton. I've had the bike up to 90 with more to go. Is this the top speed.

In 4th gear! :-D The only governing I`m aware of is the rev-limiter.If your still revving freely, but won`t go over 90,maybe the speedo is bad. :???:

I agree, I have had my thrux with no mods except predators up to about an indicated 120 with only the fear of death slowing me down.

cheers, jason

Thanks guys maybe I'm shifting too soon. I usually shift at 30 rpm because I'm afraid of blowing the motor. What rpm should I shift at?

get the procom high rev limeter, that will take your rev limit from 7?00 to 8200 rpm,,,, shift at 7500,, vroooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmm.

"honey, did you see something fly by just then??" no dear,,, it's just the tint of the glass

on that note,, i hit a new top speed today,, only god and i know what i said right before i backed off somewhere around 115

no but seriously,,, you can really go alot farther than that,, shifting at 3000 rpms (if i'm reading your post right) is using less than half of the dynamic range of your motor,,, mine lives its happiest around 5500 , and that's bone stock except for bafflectomy.

ps,,, if you haven't gone over 3000 rps,,, you really didn't break your bike in properly
