Okay here is my story.....I pick up my buddy (saturday), trailer in tow and head down to Atlanta Triumph with tentative plans of bringing back a T-100. Its a bright sunny day, warm, bit of a breeze. Perfect day to break in a Bonnie or so I think.

We arrive and I make comment of the happy ending spas that surround the dealership. Hey maybe it makes for low rent which may equate to a good deal on a bike

I talk to the guy everything is going well, I check out the Thruxton and the white and tangerine bonnie and ultimately have to go with the bonnie.....we move to his office to talk turkey....

Now I came prepared.....I am a USAA member so I had a promissory note in hand from my bank just in case it all worked out. We hammered out a good deal.....and I made the call to my bank to give them all the info....MSRP etc etc......the girl put me on hold and while I sat there I filled out the promissory note....entering in the OTD price. Keep in mind the OTD price was a little higher than the number I gave the loan officer due to a helmet purchase etc....

She came back on the line and told me I was authorized to write the promissory check for an amount that was $400 less than I had written it for. As they would not cover the check for an amount greater than the collateral value of the bike.....this was a problem.

I had already put ink to paper on the promissory note.....there was no going back. I could not edit the thing.....the only thing i could do was.....

Request a new promissory note which will arrive Monday....and come back on Tuesday when the dealer re-opened to finally get my bike.....

I left with only a helmet......I told my buddy it was like about to make love with a supermodel only to have my only condom break just before the act......

So come Tuesday I will make my grand debut....

It's always something. Just the same, it will be worth the effort. These are really great bikes...

I don`t carry condoms anymore,I carry VISA. You coulda rode for a month and then paid it off with the new check. :-D
And BTW,supermodels are overrated.I`ve had Claudia Schiffer 100s of times and its like she isn`t even there. :lgh:

yeh agreed, there is always something. No matter how I try to have everything sorted there is always something from the house of gloom that stops the show.

Don't get angry, it serves no useful purpose. Just be prepared for your next visit.

Don't be down. Just remember it always feels better without the condom. Once you straddle that bike you'll see what I mean. :-D

I had USAA send me some checks for each bike. They get those deals going where everything you spend during a certain month is like 2.9% for the life of it. Worked great.

And here I was expecting so sort of "King of Cars" type of story where the salesman saw you roll-up with an empty trailer and the retail price suddenly shoots up $1000 from last week.<g>

If an extra trip to the dealer is the worst thing that happens to you, you're getting off cheap. Oh the stories I've heard (about other dealers mind you). Enjoy the new scoot.
