Why not use one forum for engine/ driveline discussion exclusive and keep the other for all other mods/ shocks, body parts/ etc...??

I know that we all have the same angines, but let's face it, few of us do anything to these engines.
I couldn't disagree with you more. It seems this forum always has threads about adjusting the carbs and rejetting. THE page everyone here uses for their initial rejet (I'm talking about Dinqua's website) is based on the speedmaster, but it has provided many bonnie owners with excellent information. Dinqua even has the big bore process stepped out for everybody. Lots of people tweak their engine/carb set ups, and most people get tips here prior to starting a project.

FWIT- Most SM/BA owners here won't be too interested in our own forum, because we already have our own website. Many of us (if not most of us) are members of bonnevileamerica.com. If we want model specific advice we can always go there; it's extremly active and very useful. If you put us in our own forum here we'd still crash the bonnie forum just so we could hang out with you guys

Frankly I would be bored to death if all I had to talk about were pegs, bars and bags. Mancha I read your posts all the time and would miss your input as well as everybody else's if you sent me off to the La Dee Da site for "CRUISER'S.

I have two different Bonneville's in my garage. They ride differently but are basically the same when it comes to working on them. I thought the Thruxton riders wanted their own forum and that was why they split off. I used to get a lot of good information from them. I wish they would come back to share their stories and mods with us.

If guy's are posting twice then for gosh sakes get rid of that forum but don't push the other Bonneville's out just because no one feels they don't like to ride hard and make mods to their bikes. You see I feel there is no fine line between the two. Two pistons , two pipes and two wheels. We all ride Bonneville's here so let's keep them together.
:chug:

I read every post. To me its not just about engines but the experiences in peoples lives with their bikes. Buncha interesting people with a buncha livin to tell about. At the same time I get to learn a lot about my Bonneville even if I never change a thing on it.

I don't mind clicking back and forth between forums. I wouldn't mind if they were put together.

It's a click's worth of effort either way.

Leave the Twin Talk Forum alone! It works well for all us parallel twin owners regardless of what model we own and ride. If the Cafe Club Forum is'nt working for you Thruxton owners then come on over to Twin Talk where you are already included if you want to be, but to suggest that BA and SM owners be kicked off our own Forum to a seperate Cruiser Forum is Totally Arrogant.
If you don't like the look of a particular topic, then don't go into it and then complain that it is not what you want to see.
The information and knowledge sharing for all Bonneville owners has been very valuable on Twin Talk over the years along with the shared humour and banter that goes with it.
As for the comment "what is SM" it is a Speedmaster, which is a model of Bonneville and is manufactured by Triumph and actually has the same engine as your Thruxton. I guess you probably already knew that and were just displaying your ignorance, i certainly hope not as Twin Talk does not minimise the difference between all the Parallel Twin engines, whether they be T100, Thruxton, BA, SM or Scrambler etc.
So come on in and participate and enjoy our forum if that is what you want to do but don't try to change us just to suit your needs.

Cheers

Robbo

I still don't trust those "Scrambler" folks, knobby tires and all that, that's not really what a Triumph is all about....

Seriously, I say we all stick together. I enjoy reading/viewing the changes/fixes the Bonnie/Thruxton guys do as much as the fellow cruisers. As evidenced by the lack of participation on the Cafe forum, maybe there just isn't enough of us to cover that many different forums. If I want some real specific cruiser info, I'll pop over to BonnevilleAmerica.com.
Recently, I had difficulty getting my carbs sync'd and posted to both forums (acutally replied here to a related thread by Ohiorider). I received good info and suggestion from Bonnie owners on this forum as well as over at BA.com on how to fix. That's pretty nice, imo. I say Twins unite!

Hi Mancha. You've started quite a discussion here. It's Shawn's call, in the end. Just to add my own two cents:

I like reading about all the Twins. Like Monte said, we have a lot of friends here with different kinds of bikes, but - twins are twins. Yes, some of us like different styles, but I personally feel some kind of connection with all of them.

Friendly reminder about acceptable use: cross posting isn't permitted. I don't read the Thrux forum, so I don't know how often you do it. Check the policy memo that Shawn has put at the top of this forum.

I have not read all of the responses but I would hate to split the forum up for a couple of reasons. First I enjoy many of those who post and they would now be on separate forums. Also, since Triumph has started using the 270 engines in the Scrambler and the T100 and has the 360 in the standard, black and BA you would have to still use two forums to gain engine info from other members. Keep it the way it is. Who knows maybe I will get a SM someday. Thinking ahead what will the future fuel injection crowd do.

I think a split BA, SM cruisers and Bonneville Classics an Trux
would be best , the two types of bikes have little in common. Ed
