Here in South Jersey, there is a Triumph dealer within 10 miles of a large and well-known H-D dealer. A T-100 and an 883R are priced within $100 of one another.

The fit and finish of the T-100 is superior to the Sportster. There really is no comparision. I consider the T-100 a much better value (chrome cases, tach, similar displacement, higher cool factor, etc)

Another poster in this thread offered point I would reiterate: there are only two or three standards left on the market here in the U.S. so there is remarkably little to compare the Bonnie too.

(I consider the Sportster a standard, although many H-D people would disagree)

My Bonnie was a bargain at any price! I'm not kidding when I say I would have spent a lot more on her if I had to.

I was (and am) hopelessly infatuated with this bike. I am not wealthy but when I saw new Bonnevilles & Thruxtons for the first time last year, I knew I would own one and its price was not a factor. In fact I was expecting the costs to be higher. Now that I know a little better the demographic of the typical U.S. Triumph owner, I'd say the price is actually more than reasonable.
